Ballast Water Treatment System Design & Implementation

Summary

CSL group approached Flow Tech to provide the engineering solution and turn key package for the installation of 2 x Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS). A riding team was created to survey the vessel and quickly determined the best approach to the project.

Our Design team and mechanical engineer effectively determined the requirements of the OEM, the system mechanical and electrical components as well as the Lloyds Certification requirements. With a comprehensive understanding of the task, the design team generated a scope of works with Structural / Mechanical drawings for the new equipment and provided a complete set of ISO drawings for an off-shore company to fabricate and install the new BWTS.

A full submission to Lloyds was completed (MDAD) and approval granted to conduct this installation. Flow Tech provided a Project Management team to supervise the installation of the BWTS during a 45 day Dry Docking overseas. On completion of the installation, Flow Tech engaged with the OEM and ship’s staff to conduct Set to works and provide the crew with system operational training during sea trials.
